A Partnership to Promote Volunteerism

CBS 6 Albany, a leader in promoting community service through the media...
United Way, an agency dedicated to improving people's lives community by community…

What do they have in common?

They have created a groundbreaking partnership to help strengthen our local communities by promoting volunteerism throughout Northeastern New York state.

We all can do our part to contribute to our World At Home
CBS 6 Albany is providing the resources, references and reasons to get involved by airing locally-produced vignettes, promotional announcements and coverage on Channel 6 News. United Way is helping to connect the region's charities with the project. A local Web Developer created this website to give you a chance to review and respond to regional volunteer needs.

What can you do to contribute to our World At Home
Since 80% of non-profit organizations across the country rely on volunteers to fulfill about one-third of their staffing needs, the World At Home project offers you a chance to help the charities in your community. Non-profit organizations need your help! World At Home provides an easy way for you to take action.

CBS 6 Albany, the Capital Region's most watched news station, is often recognized as the country's pioneer television station -- and according to some, the longest continually operating television station in the world. CBS 6 Albany's service area in New York and New England has grown to over a million television households in five northeast states.
United Way is a leading community builder and problem solver. The organization raises funds and invests them locally in non-profit human service programs that can measurably improve people's lives. United Way also engages residents and other stakeholders in sustained, collaborative, strategic efforts to improve conditions in our local communities.
